Coventry v Stevenage preview

Image: McGoldrick: Set to start

Team news for Sunday's League One clash between Coventry and Stevenage at the Ricoh Arena (kick-off 1.15pm).

David McGoldrick is likely to make his first league start for Coventry when they entertain Stevenage. The striker arrived on loan from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day and came off the bench against Crewe last weekend before being promoted to the starting XI for Tuesday's JPT victory over Burton. McGoldrick duly put in a man-of-the-match performance and is now set to start from the off as the Sky Blues, led by caretaker boss Richard Shaw, aim to get their first league win on the board. Cyrus Christie, Richard Wood and Gary McSheffrey were also handed starts against Burton and it remains to be seen whether Shaw will stick with them or recall Jordan Clarke, William Edjenguele or Adam Barton. Shaw was less than impressed with City's abject first-half display and replaced striker Cody McDonald at the break with Stephen Elliott, who could also regain his starting spot. Midfielders John Fleck (hamstring), Conor Thomas (ankle) and David Bell (hip) remain unavailable. Chris Day, Jon Ashton, James Dunne and Lucas Akins are set to return to Stevenage's starting line-up. The quartet were all rested as Boro crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 3-2 at Dagenham. Marcus Haber, Robin Shroot and Luke Freeman came off the bench against the Daggers and could also be in line to start. Defender Lee Hills continues to build up his fitness following his summer switch from Crystal Palace and striker Dani Lopez is also awaiting his debut after joining on deadline day. Midfielder Greg Tansey played in midweek despite suffering a jaw injury against Shrewsbury last Saturday and is set to continue.
