Neil Warnock's side have yet to find the back of the net in league action this season after a goalless draw with Watford on the opening day was followed by last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Preston.
Burnley, though, will prove determined visitors to Selhurst Park as they look to secure a first league win following comprehensive defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich.
Warnock could hand exciting teenage prospect Victor Moses a start as he looks for a solution to his striking shortcomings.
The forward came on as a substitute against Preston and will hope to figure more prominently.
Long-term problem
Fellow youngster Sean Scannell could also be involved if Warnock reverts to a three-man attack.
Paul Ifill and Carl Fletcher were this week placed on the transfer list but Warnock is still likely to consider the duo. However, want-away Ben Watson will not figure until his future is decided.
