Brentford v Charlton preview

Image: Vine: Could make his second Bees debut

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's JPT Southern Section semi-final clash between Brentford and Charlton at Griffin Park.

Rowan Vine could make his second Brentford debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Charlton. The striker, who rejoined the Bees on loan from QPR last month, did not even travel with the squad for Saturday's win at Southampton due to boss Andy Scott's concerns over his match fitness. But Scott may use the midweek clash to give Vine some playing time, although he is likely to start on the bench. Winger Myles Weston is still missing with hamstring trouble and forward Carl Cort is a long-term absentee with an Achilles problem, but Scott has no new injury concerns following their impressive 2-0 success at the weekend. Pim Balkestein, David Hunt and Robbie Simpson could start if Scott opts to make changes. Christian Dailly returns from suspension for Charlton's trip to Brentford. Manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed the former Scotland defender will start at Griffin Park after completing a four-match ban for his red card against Yeovil last month. Striker Akpo Sodje will be missing from the squad after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder as a substitute during Sunday's shock 1-0 home defeat by lowly Walsall. Parkinson has vowed to make changes following that disappointing display so Kyel Reid, Lee Martin and Pawel Abbott will push for places in the starting line-up. Plymouth loanee Marcel Seip is cup-tied and fellow defenders Chris Solly (ankle) and Kelly Youga (knee) remain on the sidelines.
