Blackburn v L Orient preview

Image: Pedersen: In contention for return

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup third-round clash between Blackburn and Leyton Orient at Ewood Park (kick-off 8pm).

Blackburn manager Steve Kean is expected to ring the changes for the game. Midfielder Jason Lowe could start at right-back having filled in there during Saturday's win over Arsenal after Michel Salgado went off with a hamstring problem. Morten Gamst Pedersen, who has not played since the end of August with a hamstring injury of his own, is in contention for a return but David Dunn (calf) and Ryan Nelsen (knee) will not be involved. Leyton Orient look set to be without Stephen Dawson and Jamie Cureton. Skipper Dawson has missed the last three matches with an ankle problem and striker Cureton suffered a groin injury at the start of the month. Both players are not far away from returning but the Ewood Park clash is probably too soon. Defender Scott Cuthbert also misses out as he serves the second game of a three-match ban for his red card against Bournemouth last week. Striker Jonathan Tehoue (broken wrist) and goalkeeper Jamie Jones (shoulder) are long-term absentees. On-loan Tottenham keeper Ben Alnwick and Huddersfield's Tom Clarke are eligible to play and 19-year-old forward George Porter keeps his place after a goal on his full debut in the 3-1 defeat by Oldham on Saturday. Blackburn (from): Bunn, Olsson, Hanley, Givet, Samba, Dann, Pedersen, Vukcevic, Nzonzi, Lowe Petrovic, Formica, Goodwillie, Rochina, Hoilett, Yakubu, Roberts, Grella, Robinson, Ribeiro.
