Italians come from behind to beat Sevilla

AC Milan lifted the UEFA Super Cup after beating Spanish side Sevilla 3-1 at the Stade Louis II stadium. Sevilla went ahead through Renato but Milan stepped up their game in the second-half and goals from Filippo Inzaghi, Marek Jankulovski and Kaka secured the victory for the European champions. On five minutes, Kaka was presented with the first chance of the game when Inzaghi easily cut inside and laid off for the Brazilian but his shot clipped the outside of the post. Sevilla took the lead on 14 minutes when Renato headed home from close range after Nelson Dida got caught in two minds when dealing with an in-swinging corner.
Prolific
Milan then had a goal ruled out when Inzaghi was caught marginally offside. Alessandro Nesta demonstrated his experience when a long pass fell to Frederic Kanoute, who laid back to Sergio Duda but the Italian veteran brilliantly cleared off the line. Towards the end of the first half a huge chance fell to Clarence Seedorf after the Dutchman found himself completely unmarked but he headed over. On 55 minutes Milan hit-back through their prolific striker Inzaghi; Ivan Gennaro Gattuso put a great cross in and the Italian headed home at the back post.
Punished
On the hour, Marek Jankulovski put the European champions ahead with a stunning strike, the Czech meeting a diagonal ball left-footed and finishing expertly. As Sevilla sent men forward, Milan punished them on the break and Kaka was chopped in the box. The midfielder missed his penalty but got lucky and nodded the rebound into an empty net to secure the game for Carlo Ancelotti's men.
