Sebastian Vettel's domination is generating some frustration amongst his competitors.

Paul Di Resta had another disappointing day and he told me afterwards that his car has a curious issue of lacking straight-line speed compared with his team-mate. Paul said that he was shifting into top gear 70 meters later than Hulkenberg on the back straight, a problem which has to be fixed before the endless straights of Abu Dhabi. The DRS zone was 80 metres longer and this certainly seemed to do the job with plenty of side by side 'last of the late brakers' action into turn four. Pirelli really need to do something to strengthen the side walls of the tyres to reduce the number of punctures. Apprently these tyres are each around 2 kilos lighter than the Bridgestones and the sidewalls seem particulalry vulnerable. Its no great surprise to see Kimi Raikkonen signed up again by Lotus for 2013. He's just notched up 14 consecutive points finishes and his return has largely been a great success, although he lacked a bit of killer instinct in getting past Felipe Massa I thought. And so to the heat and twilight of Abu Dhabi. MB
