Frenchman hints he could remain with Toro Rosso next season

An upbeat Jean-Eric Vergne says there is “good potential” for him to be on the 2015 F1 grid and that he could remain with Toro Rosso.
In August it was announced that the Frenchman would be replaced at the Italian team by the latest Red Bull junior protégé Max Verstappen.
However, Sebastian Vettel’s departure from the senior team and Daniil Kvyat’s subsequent promotion has opened up a vacancy at his current employer again.
“I think there is a good potential,” Vergne told Sky Sports News HQ when asked if he would be on the grid in 2015.
“I have a really good relationship with the team and I have shown recently that even with difficult circumstances for myself I have always been able to perform well. Unfortunately this season I have had a lot of DNFs and technical issues which meant I couldn’t show my potential.
“Hopefully getting one more year I can show my potential – the car will be better, the engine will be better and more reliable and therefore it could be a great thing for me.”
So could that mean one more year with Toro Rosso?
“It could be possible yes,” he added.
Vergne is currently 13th in the Drivers’ Championship having scored 13 points more than team-mate Kvyat.
