Sebastian Vettel has maintained his personal tradition and named his car for the new season, the World Champion christening the troubled RB10 'Suzie'.

The four-times World Champion has traditionally given his cars girls names with past examples including Kate, Kate's Dirty Little Sister, Luscious Liz and, last year, Hungry Heidi.

Red Bull have revealed that 'Suzie' has been selected as the name for the 2014 challenger, Vettel having told Sky Sports F1 in his recent joint interview with new team-mate Daniel Ricciardo that the name would be decided when he went out for dinner in Australia with the crew who work on his car.

Unlike her predecessors, however, it seems likely that 'Suzie' will experience a more low-key debut in Melbourne this weekend given Red Bull suffered from chronic unreliability during winter testing and are off the pace of the leading teams.

Vettel, who won the 2011 Albert Park event and each of the final nine races of last season, is aware his latest title defence begins with the team firmly on the back foot.

"We didn't do as much running as we would have liked in testing this year, so we have work to do in Melbourne, but it will be good to get to the first race," he said.

"It's hard to know where we are; it's fair to say that we're not the favourites to win and we have to catch up with others that have completed more mileage, but we'll do our best with the great people that we have working for the team.

"We have achieved a lot together and I know everyone is working flat out as normal."

The 2014 F1 season begins this weekend live only on Sky Sports F1, with the opening Practice session from Melbourne at 1am on Friday morning.
