McLaren's Jenson Button says after how the car handled during the Spanish GP he doesn't expect to score any points at all this year.

Jenson Button is unsure if McLaren will score points in 2015 after finding his car “scary to drive” during the Spanish GP.

Qualifying seemed to suggest the Woking squad had overtaken Sauber and Force India in F1’s pecking order, but both Button and team-mate Fernando Alonso struggled during the race and found themselves running ahead of only the Manor Marussias.

Alonso would retire from the grand prix with a brake issue, while Button finished 16th, a lap down and a long way off the points.

"Friday, the long runs were good, but it was pretty scary to drive - every time I touched the throttle it just snapped so I am sure there is something wrong there,” Button told Sky Sports F1.

“In low-speed corners it is slow because as soon as you touch the throttle you get wheel-spin, but in high-speed it is very scary as soon as you touch the power: it is gone the rear end, it snaps immediately and it is not a gradual snap like you normally get, it is very weird.

"After today I don't think I expect points at all this year. So let's hope today is an off-day, it didn't feel right. The weekend has been reasonably good for us, but it was like flicking a switch in the race. I didn't have grip from the start and it wasn't a balance issue as I also had understeer in the car."
