It's the biggest weekend on the country's motorsport calendar and one of the most famous and oldest races of them all so what better way for Sky Sports F1 to gear up to the 2013 British GP than with a double helping of The F1 Show.

Yes, that's right; we're adopting a two-pronged attack to our build-up to the Silverstone extravaganza this week with an additional Thursday F1 Show added to Friday evening's regular post-practice edition.

Thursday's programme is entitled 'British GP special' and emphasis is certainly on the latter word as the 8pm programme will be presented from the Silverstone starting grid with hosts Ted Kravitz and Natalie Pinkham joined by four of British motorsport's - and Sky F1's - finest in the shape of Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert and Anthony Davidson.

Situated directly in front of the grandstands, the hour-long show will certainly be an interactive affair as the team get in amongst the fans who have arrived at the circuit early and also speak to two of the other groups of people the event couldn't do without, Silverstone's marshals and organisers.

Of course, Thursday also represents media day at the circuit and during the course of the programme we'll hear from as many drivers - and live guests - as possible to ensure you have all the angles covered ahead of the official start to the weekend's track action on Friday.

In keeping with usual protocol, the usual post-practice edition of the show, which comes on air at 6pm on Friday, will contain all the very best analysis of the day's track action as Ted, Natalie and guests review P1 and P2 and assess what it all means for the big weekend ahead.

But that, Sky Sports F1 viewer, is far from all. During the course of the two shows, we'll also be producing a number of other features for your viewing pleasure:

- In another summer tradition, we head to the festivals - Donington Park and the Download Festival to be precise - as Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo tells David Croft all about his rock star heroes.

- Johnny puts his reputation on the line as he takes on the GP2 & 3 Brit Pack at karting.

- Crofty also gets behind the wheel and we see how he gets as he swaps the commentary box for the cockpit.

- The concluding two parts of 'The Lost Generation' series as we tell the stories of Tom Pryce and Tony Brise.

- Highlights from the Grand Prix Ball as the stars from sport and showbiz gear up for the Silverstone extravaganza at the Hurlingham Club in London.

So that's two hours of broadcasting across two F1 Shows from Silverstone you certainly don't want to miss! But remember in the event that you do Thursday's 8pm, and Friday's 6pm, editions will be replayed on the channel while both will also be available via Sky Go.
