Coming this weekend - the Sand Grand Prix

Sky Sports F1 has lined up a racing extravaganza this weekend with the channel set to broadcast not one but two grands prix on Sunday!

In what we promise is an absolute viewing treat, Sky Sports F1's exclusively live coverage of this weekend's Abu Dhabi GP will include footage of the inaugural but rather fabulous 'Sand Grand Prix'.

Filmed at the Big Red sand dune just outside Dubai, this season's 'twentieth race' featured two British World Champions and four F1 winners as our very own Damon Hill and Johnny Herbert took on Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the Arabian desert.

Driving dune buggies around a specially-prepared course, Johnny and Damon went head-to-head against the two Merc drivers, with the event following the format of a grand prix weekend with a Practice session followed by Qualifying and then the Race itself.

So who won? Well, let's just say all will be revealed in Sunday's Abu Dhabi GP race programme, which begins at 11.30am on Sunday morning with the race show then underway at 12pm. Don't miss it!

You'll also be able to see behind-the-scenes footage from the Sand GP in Friday night's F1 Show at 5pm when Ted, Natalie and our top-secret F1 Sky Insider will be revealing just how we put together this feature.
