Sky Bet make Lewis Hamilton favourite to win in Spain, but back Vettel to win the 2012 title.

But Sebastian Vettel favourite to defend the drivers' title

World Champion Sebastian Vettel has been off the pace so far this season, but is now favourite to defend his drivers' crown after his first win of the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Red Bull team have admitted they have been struggling with the German's car in 2012, but victory last time out has seen the 24-year-old come into 2/1 favourite with Sky Bet to complete a hat-trick of Drivers' Championships. Despite struggling with his drive for the opening Grand Prix of the campaign, Vettel has shown the class of a champion by leading the way in the title race and recording two podium finishes in the process. Lewis Hamilton has arguably been the most consistent of the top contenders- securing a trio of third-place finishes before slumping to eighth in Bahrain, and is priced as 11/4 favourite to break his 2012 duck in Spain. Another consistent performer who has gone under the radar is Red Bull driver Mark Webber, who has secured four fourth placed finishes and is 14/1 to win in Barcelona. This race is often a good indicator of where the title will be won as 10 of the last 15 races winners at Barcelona have gone on to win the championship in the same year. Jenson Button is 7/2 to win the Spanish GP after struggling to match his win in the opening race of the campaign, with two finishes outside the points. Outside of the top four, Scottish driver Paul Di Resta has finished inside the points three times already this season and is 7/4 for add to his tally or 8/1 to secure a top six finish.

Improve

Sky Bet F1 trader Dave Pilgrim believes Red Bull could benefit in Barcelona this week if they can continue to improve their car. He said: "Barcelona is a tricky track and requires a balanced car, so Red Bull look like they could challenge this weekend. "Seven of the drivers on the grid on Sunday have won the race in the past and Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen is a good price at 8/1. He could have done better last time out if his teammate had released him earlier in the race, so he will be one to watch. "If readers are looking for another tip this weekend they could look to Paul Di Resta, who is improving all the time and could be a decent shout to secure a points finish."
