A strange moment during the Chinese GP second practice session as someone ran across the main straight from the grandstand towards the pitlane

Watch the video as an unidentified man runs across the Shanghai circuit midway through Practice Two for the Chinese GP.

To the shock of the Sky F1 commentary team, the man runs across the track just in front of Nico Hulkenberg's Force India before jumping over the pitwall.

According to Sky F1 reporter Ted Kravitz, the gatecrasher was then apprehended by marshals after apparently trying to gain access to the Mercedes garage.

It was later reported that the man had explained he 'wanted to try a car'.
