Turkey loses F1 race

The Turkish Grand Prix has lost its place on a revamped Formula One schedule for 2012.

Calendar will revert to a 20-race season in 2012

The Turkish Grand Prix has lost its place on a revamped Formula One schedule for 2012. The Istanbul Park track was included on a provisional 21-race calendar despite its current contract having expired, but the race has been removed from the final line-up. The calendar will revert to a 20-race season in 2012, with India replacing Istanbul and Bahrain returning to the schedule after this season's event was cancelled due to civil unrest. The first round will again be held in Australia, with the Bahrain race moved from a provisional March slot to the fourth round in April. The US leg of the championship, at a new circuit in Austin, Texas, has been moved from June to November when conditions are likely to be cooler. The British Grand Prix will again be run as the ninth race and will take place at Silverstone on the weekend of 6-8 July. 2012 F1 calendar
