Paul Di Resta: Facing Silverstone qualifying disqualification
Paul Di Resta's fifth place on the British GP grid is under threat after his Force India car was found to be underweight during post-qualifying scrutineering checks at Silverstone.
A Technical Report released by the FIA several hours after qualifying ended on Saturday evening confirmed that checks had found Di Resta's car to be 1.5kg below the minimum weight required to comply with Article 4.1 of F1's technical regulations.
The matter has now been referred to the stewards of the meeting at Silverstone for further consideration but Di Resta could be relegated to the back of Sunday's grid should a penalty be imposed.
Force India declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Sky Sports Online.
Any qualifying disqualification for the Scot would immediately elevate Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo to the head of the third row, while it would also help title challengers Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso's causes after they both endured difficult qualifying sessions.
