Mark Webber was disappointed with Giedo van der Garde after the Caterham driver collided with the Red Bull man when he should have let him pass.
Mark Webber has described Giedo van der Garde's driving as "not very clever" after their clash during the Canadian GP.
The Dutchman turned in on the Red Bull driver as the Australian lapped him at the hairpin causing significant damage to the front wing of the RB9.
The Caterham driver was given a stop/go penalty for triggering the incident, but that was of little comfort to Webber who felt he too was given a time penalty of sorts by having to deal with a loss of performance.
"Obviously it was his fault and he got a time penalty for it, but then so do I because I have a damaged front-wing," he told Sky Sports F1.
"I don't know if he has a lot of concentration to drive the car in terms of what is straight ahead of him. We had a lot of blue flags up at the hairpin and I was in his mirrors for on the long straight behind him and then we made contact. I couldn't believe it.
"Fair enough if it had been for position, but when you are being lapped and the leaders are coming through battling for the top spots and you close the door it is not very clever."
Red Bull opted not to change the wing during Webber's second stop, a decision he thinks was almost certainly the right decision.
"I think we are always experts in hindsight," the veteran added. "It was probably best to leave it on - structurally it was fine, but performance wise it was a big loss."
