A gracious Fernando Alonso has congratulated Sebastian Vettel after narrowly losing out on the 2012 title to his Red Bull rival.

It is, however, a season which has ended with the Scuderia unable to prevent Red Bull claiming their third successive pair of titles and plenty of questions being asked about Ferrari's design and development processes. "There are lots of things that, with the benefit of hindsight, we would have done differently," Technical Director Pat Fry conceded when interviewed by Sky F1's Ted Kravitz. "We did the best we could, but we need to build a quicker car for next year. The people at the factory are already focusing on next season's car and have been for several months already. We need to learn from the mistakes we made at the start of the year."
