Raikkonen will start tenth at Sepang
Lotus' qualifying woes in Qualifying for the Malaysian GP have been compounded by a three-place grid penalty for Kimi Raikkonen.
The Australian GP victor's punishment has relegated him to just tenth on the starting grid for Sunday's race.
As a result of Raikkonen's demotion, McLaren pair Jenson Button and Sergio Perez have advanced to seventh and ninth respectively, while Force India driver Adrian Sutil has been promoted to eighth.
In a brief statement, the race stewards confirmed that Raikkonen had been punished for impeding the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg during the third and final stage of qualifying.
"It's obviously disappointing to lose three places on the grid, but we'll have to see what happens in the race," Raikkonen said after being informed of the penalty.
"I have no idea what the weather will do, but it will be the same for everyone."
