Mercedes driver took third consecutive Monte Carlo win after late pit-stop relegated Lewis Hamilton to third; German has now won last two races in 2015

Nico Rosberg is hoping to keep his run of victories going in Canada this weekend after a “positive experience” in Monaco.
The German took his third successive Monaco win last time out after a late pit-stop relegated Lewis Hamilton from first to third in Monte Carlo, handing the lead to his Mercedes team-mate.
Despite the circumstances, Rosberg feels Monaco was a positive event for him and, having also won in Spain, is looking to take that momentum into this weekend.
“It is important to keep it going, it has been a good run of results now and I want to keep it going and the opportunity is here in Montreal,” Rosberg told Sky Sports News HQ.
“I have this positive experience behind me now in Monaco, eventually it turned out to be a great experience for me and so I am good to go.
“It was a special day in the end, of course it wasn’t as emotional as if it was 100 per cent self-made, but still it was great because a win is a win in racing. The sport is harsh and I’ve learnt to accept that and this time the racing gods were on my side big time. So I take it, but of course I felt for the other side because it was a horrible way to end the weekend and very undeserved, but that is the way it is and I have this positive experience behind me.”
Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo took his maiden win in Canada last year after passing Rosberg with three laps to go, however, the Mercedes driver still classes it as one of his best performances of the season.
“It was good because it was a big challenge to bring the car home without having electronic power and all the problems that we had so I was happy with the end result – although I was gutted that I lost the lead with two laps to go,” he added.
“But good memories from here and I am confident. I am coming here raring to go again, this is a great track and I have great memories from here last year, one of my best races, so let’s go.”
In the aftermath of the Mercedes pit-stop error it was suggested that the Silver Arrows lacked a clear figurehead making decisions since Ross Brawn left the team. However, when this theory was put to Rosberg the German gave a diplomatic answer.
“Ross Brawn was fantastic, but at the same time we have a fantastic team now," he said. "That is the best way to put it.”
The late change of positions in Monaco saw a 17-point swing in the drivers’ championship and Rosberg heads into the Canadian Grand Prix just 10 points behind Hamilton.
