Rosberg refutes title talk
Nico Rosberg says it is too early to consider him a title contender despite winning two of the last three races.
The Mercedes driver moved to within 50 points of Sebastian Vettel with victory at Silverstone and is the form man heading into his home race in Germany this weekend.
The Silver Arrows have also been the dominant car on a Saturday this season, taking five pole positions and three front-row lockouts, but Rosberg says the team are just taking it one race at a time.
"It is too early to say that," he said when asked by Sky Sports F1's David Croft if he was a title contender during the Drivers' Press Conference ahead of the German GP.
"We are just trying to focus on keeping our momentum going and concentrating on one race at a time and trying to get the most out of them. We have done that in the last few races which has been fantastic for me and we will see in a few races' time. I don't really want to think about the world title yet.
"For sure it is a really nice time in my career. It is a new experience for me because I have never had a car as quick as it is now, going to every race and knowing I can fight in qualifying for a position at the front.
"The car is getting better and better in the race so I know there is a chance I can keep my qualifying position so it is a really nice feeling."
When pressed further by the assembled media he added: "Short-term I just want to annoy Sebastian [Vettel] and Red Bull by being ahead of them. That is the most important thing to be ahead of them and other teams.
"I want to win more races and that is what I am focused on and what the team are focused on."
