Adrian Lewis: Twice a winner
Touted by Phil Taylor as his natural successor, Adrian Lewis lived up to the billing with world titles in 2011 and 2012.
Lewis bagged his first in memorable style as he beat Gary Anderson in the final and even threw a nine-darter along the way.
- Date of birth: 21.01.85
- Birthplace: Stoke-on-Trent
- Nickname: Jackpot
- Major titles: World Championship (twice)
- World Championship best: Winner (twice)
- Walk-on music: Reach Up (Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag)
A return to Ally Pally in 2012 brought the best out of him once again and a 7-3 win over another Potteries chucker, Andy Hamilton, saw him make it back-to-back world titles.
Hopes of a hat-trick were alive as he beat Gino Vos, Denis Ovens and Kevin Painter to reach the last eight last year but there he ran into Dutch star Michael van Gerwen who edged him out in a tight quarter-final.
Lewis began 2013 by retaining another big title as he partnered his great friend Taylor to victory in the World Cup of Darts in Hamburg.
He currently sits third in the order of Merit behind Taylor and van Gerwen but a third title in four years would come as no surprise given his liking for the big time.
