Michael van Gerwen produced the highest single-match scoring average in his blistering 7-0 whitewash of James Wade. 'Mighty Mike' averaged 116.90 during the one-sided rout in week 12. Wade had also been on the receiving end of another powerhouse performance, with Dave Chisnall averaging 114.17 during a 7-1 thrashing in week 10. But Phil Taylor somehow slipped to a 7-4 defeat against Raymond van Barneveld, despite his stunning 115.80 average. ‘The Power’ now holds the highest losing average in the history of televised darts, but has no doubt tried to forget this unfortunate statistic.

Kim Huybrechts seals victory with a stunning 170

Kim Huybrechts, Peter Wright and Wade all wowed the fans as they pulled off the highest possible checkout of 170 during the campaign. Huybrechts was the first to complete this difficult finish in a week five win over Van Barneveld. Wright slipped to a costly 'Judgement Night' defeat against Adrian Lewis, despite his 170 checkout, while Wade served up a thrilling finish in his week 11 draw with Gary Anderson.

Watch the moment when Phil Taylor missed his crucial double that denied him a place in the Premier League play-offs.

Stephen Bunting survived elimination on ‘Judgement Night’, but his lowly checkout percentage could explain his failure to reach the season-ending play-offs. ‘The Bullet’ finished with a 32.86 per cent success rate at the doubles, just marginally better than Huybrechts (34.15) who ended at the bottom of the table. Wright (36.96) also struggled with his finishing, while Taylor's toils were underlined by his 39.55 per cent success rate as he finished in fifth place.

Wade picked up the most draws during the season, six in total, and would have been cursing dropped points as he missed out on the play-offs. The Aldershot man was forced to share the spoils in three of his last five matches, which extinguished his slim hopes. Bunting was also held to five draws as he drifted out of contention, while Wright and Lewis each took four.
