Dave Chisnall's double victory on Night 10 of the Premier League Darts was an incredible achievement, says Wayne Mardle.

The St Helens thrower demolished both rivals James Wade and Gary Anderson in emphatic fashion, as he closed to within a point of league leader Michael van Gerwen.

Chisnall opened his evening in Sheffield with a scorching display against world champion Anderson, racking up a 107 average and scoring a 7-3 win.

Then, on his second outing at the oche, Chizzy steamed past James Wade 7-1 with a near record-breaking 114.17 match average.

Sky Sports expert Mardle says the world No.9 has surpassed all expectations this season and put in one of the all-time great Premier League performances in front of the fans in Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena.

"If we look over the stats throughout the years I don't think anyone playing two matches has performed that well,” said Mardle.

"James Wade just never had a chance. No matter what James was going to do he couldn't match him for scoring and I think Dave made one mistake and that's why James won the one leg he did.

Dream

The win all-but secures Chisnall's place in the competition’s play-off stages in London this month, as he moves nine points ahead of eighth placed Stephen Bunting.

"He's been playing with a freedom," said Mardle. "I'm not saying he can't get better but I hope that comes in the semi-finals at the O2.

"He's done what he wanted to do but he's done it with five weeks spare. That is an amazing achievement from someone who was favourite to be eliminated, incredible.

"It's been a dream night for him. When you're playing two matches it's tough. He'd have thought to himself, 'right, I don't want to get beaten, even two draws would be fine.'

"But to beat Gary Anderson and James Wade and to only lose four legs along the way is just incredible.

"With the way he played he thoroughly deserved it.

"You’ve got to say that's two of the best performances we've seen throughout the whole Premier League and it happened to him in one night.

"We thought we were going to get a brilliant Premier League, it's turning out to be something special."
