Gary Anderson claimed the Players Championship and admitted he was glad he had been persuaded to participate.
The Scot has been in fine form recently as he picked up the £125,000 first prize in Thursday's 888.com Premier League.
Anderson overcame Terry Jenkins 6-3 in the final at the K2 centre and swelled his winnings by a further £6,000 in the process.
"It's great to win again - I'm getting the hang of it now," he said.
"I said on Thursday night that I wanted to put my feet up for a week after winning the 888.com Premier League, but my manager Terry Gilmour told me to come to Crawley and I'm glad I did.
"I'm really pleased with my form and that's showing in my results. Hopefully I can play well on Sunday too."
PDC Pro Tour
Anderson's latest title was his third of the year in the PDC Pro Tour and the seventh floor event in which his formidable skills have allowed him to reach the quarter-finals.
There seemed to be no doubt that Anderson was at his best as he dispatched his first two opponents Kevin McDine and Andy Hutchings 6-1.
Kevin Painter was the next to get brushed aside before he sidestepped Wayne Jones to reach the semi-final, where he beat Alan Tabern.
