Phil Taylor has claimed some areas of his game are better than ever as he prepares for the start of the Premier League Darts season.
World champion in immaculate form ahead of Premier League
Phil Taylor believes that certain aspects of his game are better than ever ahead of the start of the 2009 Premier League Darts season.
'The Power' won his 14th world title at Alexandra Palace over the New Year and will begin the defence of his Premier League title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Thursday.
But the 48-year-old insists he is not slowing down with age, thinking some parts of his game are better than they've ever been.
"Part of it (his game) is probably better than I've ever played before. I'm loving it, I enjoy it, I think I appreciate it more now - as you get older you do," he told
Sky Sports News.

"I'm just looking forward now to the next four or five years and keep going, keep practising and keep being dedicated."
Taylor revealed that it was not difficult to motivate himself again after his 7-1 demolition of Raymond van Barneveld in the final of the PDC World Championship.
"With me, what I do is tend to not even think about it: 'You've won it, get on with it now, get on with the next one' and that's what I did," he added.
"I went and played in Gibraltar, won those two and then I went to the Players Championship and won that one so I don't really think about it, I just move on."
Challengers
The Stoke thrower is expecting to perform in front of a crowd approaching 10,000 when he takes to the stage in Liverpool.
He will be challenged by seven of the world's top players over the course of the 14 week-long league. Taylor already has ideas about where the major threats will come from.
He said: "I think Terry Jenkins will maybe do well this year, Barney's always a threat, James Wade's always good.
"Mervyn King will stick in there because he's very much into practice and dedication and this is a long format, so I wouldn't be surprised if Mervyn does well this year."
'The Power' will begin his campaign against Raymond van Barneveld on Thursday night.
