Bad Week

Man City
A trophy won one week, a trophy gone the next, that's the way it goes in football but it was still a shock to see Wigan repeat their cup success over City's expensively-assembled squad at Eastlands. City fans were dreaming of a cup double at least and maybe even a treble after beating Sunderland last week, but they were well below par as Wigan pulled off another upset. Manuel Pellegrini was dismayed with his side's performance, branding the first 45 minutes as the 'worst half we've had in the year'. To make matters worse, Chelsea took advantage of City not playing in the league to go nine points clear at the top, and next up for City is a mission improbable trip to Barcelona looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the Champions League.
Stuart Broad
England's Twenty20 captain had a day to forget in the first of the three matches in Barbados as his side suffered a 27-run defeat and he picked up a knee injury that will rule him out for the rest of the series and is a big obstacle with the World Twenty20 just around the corner. The day started badly for Broad as his first ball of the match was launched into the stands for six in a first over that went for 19. From there it went from bad to worse, with West Indies making a decent total, England's batsmen struggling and Broad limping off after being run out - not the best day to have in the Caribbean.
Wigan Warriors
The Super League champions badly need a pick-me-up after returning from their defeat at the World Club Championship in Australia, and in a frantic finish at Castleford it looked like they had got just that when they scored a late try and Matty Smith nailed a drop-goal to give them a one-point lead. Or so it looked with just a minute left on the clock. But, from the restart, Luke Dorn burst through for the Tigers to score an even later try and pinch the win from under Wigan's noses. Castleford maintained their perfect start to the season, while for Wigan it's anything but with just one win from their three games so far.
Phil Taylor
The 16-time world champion is badly struggling this season. Having suffered yet another loss in the Premier League he was then dumped out of the UK Open by major debutant Aden Kirk in one of the biggest shocks in his career. That third-round loss added to a fourth defeat in five Premier League games, this time by Gary Anderson, that leaves Taylor struggling to avoid relegation in the bottom two of a tournament he's won six out of the nine times it has been staged.
