Phil Taylor breezed into the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship with a 3-0 win over Jyhan Artut at Alexandra Palace.
The 16-time world champion was not remotely troubled by German outsider Artut, who did not manage to get a leg on the board until the third set.
Artut showed a brief glimpse of his quality in the penultimate leg as he took out an impressive finish of 95, but Taylor soon wrapped up a comfortable win.
Taylor, whose average was in excess of 100, will face either Ron Meulenkamp of the Netherlands or 2008 Lakeside champion Mark Webster in the last 32.
Assessing his performance on Sky Sports Darts, the second seed said: "Not brilliant. Bit lazy, bit slack. He kept complaining about the board. I looked at the board, it was level. It did put me off and maybe that was his game plan."
Elsewhere on the second night of competition, 2014 runner-up Peter Wright also enjoyed a whitewash victory as he defeated former rugby union player Gerwyn Price 3-0.
Price was not as outclassed as Artut would be later in the evening, taking two of the three sets to a deciding leg and hitting five 180s.
"I've had an up and down year, swapping my darts around and stuff like that, but now I'm feeling a lot more settled," Wright told the PDC's official website.
Another former finalist, Andy Hamilton, made hard work of his opening encounter but managed to progress to round two with a 3-2 victory against Dave Richardson.
In the final game of the night world No 33 Stuart Kellett was beaten by German qualifier Sascha Stein 3-1.
Stein defeated Kim Viljanen in a preliminary contest earlier in the night before pulling off the upset against Kellett.
