Alex Dowsett put in a strong showing for Team Sky on the track as the Revolution Series got under way on Saturday night.

The Brit was one of the star names who took to the boards in front of a sell-out crowd in Manchester for the first round of the famous track series’ tenth season.

Dowsett, who was partnered on the night by up-and-coming British talent Tao Geoghegan-Hart, took an impressive second in the points race, as well as third in the always entertaining showpiece Australian pursuit.

With five championship races on the agenda the evening saw great action with top domestic and European talent competing across 12 teams at the National Cycling Centre.

The final result saw Team Sky end the night ninth with three rounds remaining, while Rapha-Condor-Sharp got their campaign off to the best possible start, taking the lead through Ed Clancy and Andy Tennant.

Viewers can catch highlights of the action on ITV4 on Wednesday 31 October at 8pm (UK time).
