Britain’s Emma Pooley won her third stage in four days at the Giro d’Italia Internazionale Femminile as Marianne Vos completed overall victory of the race.

Lotto Belisol rider Pooley, 31, rode solo to the final stage’s summit finish at Madonna del Ghisallo, beating Pauline Ferrand-Prevot into second and Vos into third, both by 25 seconds.

The result was enough to secure Vos the title, with her Rabobank-Liv team-mates Ferrand-Prevot taking second, 15 seconds down, and Anna van der Breggen third, 1min 32sec back.
