Two Britons finished on the podium at the Dutch one-day race Drentse 8 on Thursday, with Lucy Garner claiming second and Lizzie Armitstead third.
The duo were beaten to victory in the 136.7km event by Chantal Blaak (Specialized-lululemon), of the Netherlands, who mounted a solo breakaway and won by eight seconds.
Garner (Giant-Shimano) edged out Armitstead (Boels-Dolmans) in the peloton's subsequent bunch sprint.
It was Armitstead's third podium in a row following her victory at Omloop van het Hageland on Sunday and her third place at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad a week earlier.
Garner, meanwhile, picked up her first podium of the season in only her third start.
