Tour de France organisers have announced the final four teams invited to compete in this year's 101st edition of the race which begins on July 5 in Leeds.

French teams Bretagne-Seche and Cofidis have been included along with Swiss outfit IAM Cycling and German team NetApp-Endura.

Only Cofidis have featured in the Tour de France before while the other three wildcards are newcomers.

IAM Cycling were founded last year and have signed French star Sylvain Chavanel for this season.

Twenty-two teams of nine riders will be on the start line in Yorkshire this summer - the other 18 squads qualified automatically as members of the elite World Tour circuit.

"The ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation, and organising body for the Tour) keeps a close eye on international cycling and continues to support French cycling," said Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme.
