British rider Hannah Barnes got her season off to the perfect start by sprinting to victory on the opening stage of the Tour Feminino de San Luis in Argentina.
The 20-year-old, who was racing for the first time in the colours of her new team, UnitedHealthcare, triumphed on a flat, 63km route starting and finishing in Villa Mercedes, and now leads general classification.
She tweeted afterwards: "Pretty good way to start the season."
The five-day race is made up mainly of sprint stages, with a 10.6km individual time trial on stage four set to decide the overall winner.
Wednesday's second stage takes the riders on a 56.2km route starting and finishing in Merlo. The race concludes on Saturday.
