Sky Sports is delighted to announce that up-and-coming young British rider Simon Yates is joining our editorial team as a blogger.

The 21-year-old Lancastrian enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2013, winning two stages of the prestigious Tour de l'Avenir in France and then finishing third overall at the Tour of Britain.

Those results helped to earn him a move to the professional ranks with Australian team Orica-GreenEdge, where he will be joined by his twin brother, Adam.

Simon will be blogging about his transition to pro cycling, integrating with his new team, life on and off the bike, racing the best riders in the world every week, plus anything else topical or that he wants to get off his chest.

His first blog will be published on Friday, January 10, and will focus on his first team training camp in Australia and playing a starring role in a new video.
