Tour de France runner-up Nairo Quintana will start his 2014 season at the mountainous Tour de San Luis in Argentina next month.
The 23-year-old Colombian climber has been named in a six-man Movistar squad also containing his newly signed younger brother Dayer, Benat Intxausti, Andrey Amador, Francisco Ventoso and Adriano Malori.
The seven-stage race takes place from January 20-26 and represents the first step in Quintana's preparations for a podium bid at a Grand Tour later in the year.
He emerged as a serious contender over three weeks with a superb display in France last summer but has still to decide whether to return to the Tour next July or focus instead on May's Giro d'Italia.
Movistar have also named their seven-man squad for the Santos Tour Down Under, which takes place around Adelaide from January 21-26.
Javi Moreno finished second overall in this year's edition and will return to lead the team with support from Ivan Gutierrez, Imanol Erviti, Ruben Plaza, Jose Joaquin Rojas, Juan Jose Lobato and Giovanni Visconti.
