Lance Armstrong has claimed cheating has been present in cycling for all of its history, stating: "My generation was no different than any other."
Armstrong did not implicate others when making his confession in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, despite allegations he had a favourable relationship with the UCI. But in his most recent interview, the 41-year-old Texan did not hide his disdain for current UCI president Pat McQuaid, who said last October that Armstrong had no place in cycling. Armstrong said: "Pat is just in constant CYA (Cover Your ***) mode. Pathetic."
