Mark Cavendish will be supported by a powerful Omega Pharma - Quick-Step team in his bid to re-establish himself as the world's best sprinter at next month's Tour de France.

The 29-year-old Briton can count on a lead-out train comprising of Mark Renshaw, Alessandro Petacchi, Niki Terpstra Matteo Trentin and world time trial champion Tony Martin.

The Belgian squad will also take multi-talented Pole Michal Kwiatkowski to the race as their main general classification hope, while Jan Bakelants and Michal Golas complete the nine-man line-up.

Cavendish won only two stages of last year's Tour as Marcel Kittel dominated the sprints with four victories, including one on the opening stage to take the yellow jersey and a prestigious win on the Champs-Elysees on the final stage.

This year's Tour begins in Yorkshire on Saturday, July 5, with a sprint stage into Harrogate.
