Sky Ride Bradford

Traffic-free event around the city centre

Sir Chris Hoy, Sky Ride

Enjoy a traffic-free cycle ride and meet six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy at Sky Ride Bradford this weekend.

The event takes place from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, September 28, and follows a 6km route taking in City Park, Lister Park and the Valley Parade football stadium.

Hoy, who is a Sky Ride ambassador, will be the special guest.

He said: “Sky Ride is a campaign I’m proud to be a part of again this year. It’s all about getting out there on your bike with your friends, family and having fun cycling.

"I think that what Sky and British Cycling have done together to help transform cycling in the UK over the last few years is fantastic. With over a million more people getting out on their bikes regularly, it’s great to see so many people loving the sport I love too.

"It’s also been an incredible summer for cycling in Yorkshire, with the start of the Tour De France taking place in the region. I can’t wait to see everyone inspired by Le Grand Depart come together to enjoy a fantastic Sky Ride event."

The event will also include a "Tricks & Tunes" bike stunts area and a Bike Cafe, while Halfords will be on site to offer all participants a free bike check, worth £14.99.

British Cycling and Sky are also working together to deliver Sky Ride Local guided rides, which are a series of free, small, weekly community bike rides that take place every Sunday.
