Pakistan coach Waqar Younis has warned his team to brace themselves for a backlash from Australia in the second Test on Thursday.
The Aussies suffered a shock 221-run defeat in the first Test in Dubai on Sunday.
Waqar’s side are now aiming for their first series win over Australia for 20 years in the second Test in Abu Dhabi.
But Waqar, part of the Pakistan team which last beat Australia in a Test series in 1994, warned that their opponents will hit back.
He said: "We have won the first Test but it's a long way to go, the second Test will be tough.
"We all know that Australia are very positive about their cricket and they feel hurt, they will bounce back, I am sure and we have to be prepared for that."
Pakistan will jump to third in the world Test rankings if they seal the series.
Meanwhile, Australia captain Michael Clarke has vowed his team will play better after being skittled out for 216 in their second innings.
He said: "Any time we lose a game it breeds fire in your belly. We don't like losing, Australians in general don't like losing.
"We got outplayed and Pakistan deserve a lot of credit for the way they played over the whole five days.
“We know we can play a lot better and look forward to showing that in the second Test match."
