The Sky Sports panel preview England's India tour and speak to Alastair Cook

Cook: Athers chats to the new England skipper

England's quest to win a first Test series in India since 1984-85 begins on Thursday.

The Sky Sports team will bring you every ball of the four-match contest live over the next month and on Wednesday evening they will get you right in the mood with an extensive preview show.

Charles Colville will be joined in the studio by former Surrey and England stars Mark Butcher and Bob Willis to talk about the return to international colours of Kevin Pietersen and ponder what XI England will select to go into battle in Ahmedabad.

Veterans Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan are still vital cogs in the India side, but some fresh faces, including batsman Virat Kohli, who has snared two tons and five half-centuries from his opening 10 Tests, and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Charles and co will look at the hosts' young guns...

All eyes will be on Alastair Cook in the subcontinent, with the left hander having succeeded the now-retired Andrew Strauss as England skipper. The Essex strokemaker will tell our man Michael Atherton about his new role, as well as the challenge of opening the batting with someone new.

Athers is currently soaking up the pre-match atmosphere in Ahmedabad and will help us look forward to the series, too, giving us an insight into conditions and revealing how he expects the duel to unfold.
