Captain Stuart Broad has been ruled out of England's two-match Twenty20 series against India due to a heel injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.
Broad had scans on his left foot two days ago and was subsequently ruled out of the final Test that began in Nagpur on Thursday but will also miss next week's matches in the shortest international format.
Eoin Morgan will lead the team instead, while uncapped Middlesex seamer James Harris has been added to the squad.
"Stuart Broad has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Twenty20 series against India with a bruised left heel," an ECB statement read.
"Broad will return to the UK immediately to begin a period of rest and rehabilitation."
Broad is due to return to India next month, for the final two matches of a one-day international series.
Steven Finn, who was already to be rested for next week's Twenty20s after straining a disc in his back, is also retuning home but is expected to get the green light for the ODI series.
