Ian Bell: England star delivers batting masterclass in Ashes Zone

Ian Bell - Batting Masterclass

It's best to be late.

That's the view of England star Ian Bell on the art of batting, as he explained to Sky Sports' Ian Ward in the Ashes Zone ahead of the fifth and final Test against Australia at The Oval.

The Warwickshire star explained that waiting for the ball to reach you, especially in bowler-friendly conditions, is a far more effective way of scoring runs than going after it and hitting hard - and if his current from is anything to go by, the 31-year-old is a man worth listening to.

Bell has notched exactly 500 runs in the 2013 Ashes series to date at an average of 71.42, with three centuries - one each at Trent Bridge, Lord's and, most recently, the Emirates Durham ICG.
