2013/14 Ashes: Kevin Pietersen says England can improve on 2013 win

Ahead of his 100th Test, Pietersen discusses his favourite innings, best England wins and his future with Sky Cricket's Ian Ward...

Pietersen's England career over

Kevin Pietersen has warned Australia that England fully expect to improve on their performance in this year's 3-0 Ashes victory.

Pietersen, who will make his 100th Test appearance at the Gabba, says his side are capable of stepping up a level and claiming their fourth Ashes series in a row - and second successive victory in Down Under - following this summer's contest in which only Ian Bell averaged over 40.

Ahead of his fifth Ashes series, Pietersen sat down with Sky Cricket's Ian Ward to discuss his career so far, including how proud he'll feel becoming the 10th England player to earn 100 caps.

"I just see myself as a cricketer going out there; I've been so lucky to live a dream," said Pietersen.

"There are a lot of people who don't like their jobs. We are so lucky with what we get to do. [I feel so lucky] to play another Test match on Thursday in a team that I'm really enjoying playing cricket with.

"They are a great bunch of guys. We've had so much success together. To play with this great team is something that really excites me.

"The most exciting part of what is happening in my career now is playing with such an experienced team and playing in a team that I know can go and do another little bit of history again over the next few months.

"With the preparation that we've had, the experience we've got and knowing that we can improve on the summer is something that really excites the team."
