Stuart Broad is looking forward to his first appearance in the final of an International Cricket Council tournament when England take on either Australia or Pakistan at the World Twenty20 on Sunday.

Broad, the 23-year-old Nottinghamshire seamer, earned man-of-the-match honours for his 2-24 in the semi-final victory over Sri Lanka in St Lucia.

"It's huge. It's something that only Colly (captain Paul Collingwood) has the experience of, playing in an ICC final," said Broad, referring to England's defeat against West Indies in the final of the 2004 Champions Trophy.

"The great thing is the confidence and the fantastic team spirit, wanting everyone to do well and enjoying each other's success.

"The way the lads are playing at the top of the order, really fearless and striking the ball, is great to see from a bowler's point of view.

"The fact I've not had my pads on yet is a very good sign in this tournament."

Theory

The final is being held at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados - a venue that usually offers plenty of pace and bounce for the fast bowlers.

Broad showed plenty of nous to adapt to the slower conditions in St Lucia and is confident he will be able to do the same again.

"My personal theory was to try to bowl as slowly as I possibly could (in St Lucia) and try to make the batsmen put all the pace on the ball to clear the ropes," he added.

"It's a lot of practice in the nets. What I try to do is mix it up with a decent paced ball as well, because there's no point letting the batsmen get completely settled into what you're doing.

"But that will potentially all change, looking at the wicket in Barbados.

"We might have to adjust and play differently there."
