The International Cricket Council has confirmed that seamer Dushmantha Chameera will replace the injured Dhammika Prasad in Sri Lanka's squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Prasad was ruled out of the tournament after he fractured a hand when trying to hold onto a return catch at practice last weekend.

And the World Cup technical committee released a statement on Tuesday saying Chameera has been accepted as Prasad’s replacement.

Any injury or illness-based replacement requires a written submission to the World Cup technical committee, along with medical evidence.
