Sri Lanka v England: Kumar Sangakkara set to keep wicket as hosts name 15-man squad

Kumar Sangakkara is in line to keep wicket against England on Wednesday after Sri Lanka named a 15-man squad.

Dinesh Chandimal, who wore the gloves in the final two matches of a 5-0 series defeat to India, has been left out of the group for the first three of seven games against England.

And that leaves Sangakkara to resume his duties as he and fellow veteran Mahela Jayawardene count down to next year's World Cup swansong.

Both are included along with left-arm spinner Rangana Herath, but injured fast bowler Lasith Malinga is out until next year.

Dhammika Prasad and Shaminda Eranga, who both enjoyed success during Sri Lanka's surprise Test series win in England earlier this year, are in a squad captained by Angelo Mathews.

And there is a surprise place for Thilina Kandamby, a batsman who last played an ODI in 2011, as Chandimal and Ashan Priyanjan miss out.

Jeevan Mendis, who featured for Sri lanka A in last week's warm-up against England, is also recalled along with Test off-spinner Dilruwan Perera.
