New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson faces a race to be fit for next month’s Test series against England.
Anderson, who has 10 Test caps, suffered a broken finger while playing in the Indian Premier League with the Mumbai Indians and will miss the rest of the tournament.
New Zealand already have a number of players at the IPL who will miss the first two matches of the tour before joining up with the remainder of the squad in time for the first Test at Lord's.
Kiwi seamer Adam Milne, uncapped at Test level, is also out injured after sitting out the latter stages of the World Cup with a heel problem.
After the two-Test series, New Zealand will face England in five one-day internationals and a one-off Twenty20 in June.
