New Zealand captain Ross Taylor will miss the rest of the third Test against South Africa after he fractured his arm.
Taylor retired hurt on 18 after taking a short delivery from Morne Morkel with the score at 145-3 in Wellington.
The New Zealand captain did not hesitate in walking from the field and his absence came as a blow for the hosts as they looked to chase down South Africa's first-innings total of 474-9.
Taylor was taken for an x-ray - with the results now putting Taylor's participation in the IPL with Delhi Daredevils in doubt.
"An x-ray confirmed that Ross Taylor has a fracture of the ulna bone of his left forearm," New Zealand Cricket's medical director Ian Murphy said.
