India have announced a 15-man squad their limited overs tour to Zimbabwe at the end of July.
Off-spinner Parvez Rasool's inclusion is the biggest talking point. The 24-year-old will became the first player from the Kashmiri region to play for India if he is selected for any of the five ODIs.
Rasool came to prominence in his homeland in 2009 after he was detained by police in Bangalore ahead of a game for Jammu & Kashmir under 22s after they claimed to find traces of explosives on his bag.
He was cleared just hours later and more recently made headlines again for his displays on the pitch, taking 7-45 against Australia in a warm-up game in Chennai.
Former India spinner Bishan Bedi believes Rasool is more than capable with the bat to go along with his bowling expertises.
"He is an orthodox off-spinner, is a brilliant all-round cricketer and a very good athlete," said Bedi.
India are without seven of the members of their ICC Champions Trophy squad and Virat Kohli will captain the side in the absence of MS Dhoni.
The wicket-keeper is rested as a precaution following a hamstring injury sustained in the tri-series currently taking place in the West Indies.
India squad: Virat Kohli (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Cheteshwar Pujara, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra, Parvez Rasool, Mohammad Shami, Vinay Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohit Sharma.
