Ireland's squad for their ICC World Twenty20 qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates next month has been boosted by the return of Alex Cusack.
The influential Clontarf all-rounder was forced to sit out the one-day international against England in June after picking up a back injury that disrupted his season.
Ireland have omitted experience all-rounder Andrew White, although he is in the squad for the Intercontinental Cup final against Afghanistan in December.
Andrew McBrine, James Shannon and John Mooney are the only members of the 15-man squad that did not feature in the 2012 finals in South Africa.
Coach Phil Simmons said: "There's no secret that I like a lot of experience in my squads and this one's no different. Most of the guys have played in World Cup finals and are used to pressure, which always comes with these qualifying tournaments.
"It's good to have Alex back in the frame. He's an intelligent cricketer and a very canny bowler to have especially in the powerplays.
"It was difficult to leave Andrew White out of the T20 squad, but he hasn't played much for us in the format, and the selectors felt that it was a good chance to take a look at some of the other contenders.
"He's been one of our main performers in the longer form of the game, so he'll be back for the Inter Continental Cup final against Afghanistan."
Former captain Trent Johnston, 39, is named in both squads but will retire from international cricket at the end of the calendar year.
There are 16 teams competing in the qualifiers, with six advancing to join the 10 full-member nations at the tournament proper, which starts next March.
