Uncapped Ish Sodhi and Corey Anderson have been named in the New Zealand squad for October's Test series in Bangladesh.
Leg-spinner Sodhi featured for the 'A' team against India recently alongside all-rounder Anderson, who has one ODI cap and five in the T20 format.
Anderson scored a century against India, while Sodhi gets his chance after progressing through his country's youth teams.
Coach Mike Hesson said: "The Bangladesh tour is a good opportunity to introduce a promising spinner, and having two specialist spinners in the squad gives us the option to utilise wickets that are likely to turn.
"Both players have been on our radar and we've been pleased with the consistency Ish showed with the ball on the current New Zealand 'A' tour while Corey made an impressive century earlier this week."
The squad is otherwise free of surprises, although Martin Guptill (finger), Daniel Vettori (Achilles) and Tim Southee (ankle) were not considered.
"Essentially this squad builds on the team that toured England in May," new national selection manager Bruce Edgar said. "The key was to take a consistent approach to selection and provide continuity for the players."
